What belongs on a weekly revenue strip

A seven-day strip is useful when it names streams the team already owns. It fails when it tries to be a market ticker.

Operations teams ask for a weekly strip because the month-end pack arrives too late to catch a quiet week. The strip should show named streams: storefront, contract retainers, one-off jobs — whatever you already invoice.

It should not show live quotes, order-book depth, or anyone else’s volume. Those belong to venues. They do not belong on a close aid.

We usually limit the strip to five streams. A sixth stream is allowed when it is a real invoice type, not a leftover catch-all named “other.” Catch-alls hide the week you actually need to talk about.

If a stream is empty three weeks running, take it off the strip and park it in a footnote. Empty bars teach people to ignore the page.
